NAC evacuates Nepali nationals from Wuhan

The Nepal Airlines Chartered flight to evacuate Nepali citizens from Wuhan landed at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) with 175 passengers at around 3:30am on Sunday morning. The Airbus A330 left for Wuhan on saturday afternoon with three pilots, six crew members, a load master, an engineer and Nepal Army health team on board.

Although 185 Nepalis had asked to be evacuated initially, 6 were unable to board the flight after the health examination at the airport and 4 decided to stay back. The evacuees were taken to Nepal Electricity Authority Training Centre, Kharipati where they would stay for two weeks or more in quarantine.

The aircraft will also be grounded for some time to undergo disinfection prior to resuming its regular flights.
