NAC executive chairman Madan Kharel resigns

The executive chairman of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), Madan Kharel has submitted his resignation to the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattrai on Sunday.

Mr. Kharel was appointed as the Chairman of the airlines in September 2018 by the government. Although he was appointed for four years, he only held the position of executive chairman for 14 months before resigning without completing his tenure.

During his tenure, Kharel had been criticized for being unable to perform his duties of expanding the international market of NAC among others even after one year of being appointed and had been at odds with the Tourism Ministry.

Before he was appointed the executive chairman of NAC, kharel had been the Managing Director of NAC from 2012 to 2015 after which he resigned from the post.
